SOMETHING FOR THE WEEKEND?

Sorry Zoom if I am treading on your toes.

What are we going to do this weekend?

    1) four electric heaters each of 2.4Kw at 230 volts, are connected to the same ring final circuit. How long will it take for the MCB to trip at an actual supply voltage of 220 volts, and at 250 volts.

    2) What is an average loading for a cannabis farm. How many may be connected to the same substation before the DNO notice.

    3) Are night lights and electric heaters in a babies room exempted from rota power cuts.

    4) Why do the internal lights in a bus still work in a power cut.

    Ans 1.

At 220 Volts the tripping time assuming a 32 Amp type B M.C.B. is infinity seconds. Or until the credit runs out in the meter.

At 250 Volts the current being approx. 45.5 Amps it is just on the tripping time line of plus 10,000 S. So it may not trip at all, and if so it will take a very long time indeed. Hours, days, weeks, years. It may be dependant on manufacturing tolerances, temperature or the X factor.
