    I would say that it's a distinct possibility, should metal gas pipes become damaged by being disturbed and fracturing.


    I've heard of huge diverted PME neutral currents being detected in gas mains.

    It's not outside the bounds of probability, assuming the gas pipe fails at the same time as the board's neutral/PME and any RCBOs on the circuit. But then you probably wouldn't care as you'd be out celebrating that multi-million lottery win! ?
