Nice music dad.

Electric survey - Bing video

  • When setting up the 4 point prober it makes sense to do a quick check with the probes within arms reach before doing the full survey.

That particular model has been superseded by  a later more rugged looking one with the battery inside.

" WDJD-4 Multi-function Digital DC Resistivity/IP Meter is the updated model of WDJD-3 multi-function digital DC Res/IP terrameter, which install a 12V rechargeable battery. "

I think  it is a sales demo,  looking at her outfit and working speed I suspect this is not someone who does this as as the day job, (oh, that and the fact there is an orchestra playing - we would not normally do that on a field trial, to me some sort of high top van with a folding table, a 12V microwave and water heater is a far more useful thing to bring than an orchestra.. )

Anyhow you measure with increasing  base-line to deduce if the measured surface resistivity is the same all the way down - so perhaps you can estimate if there is either the water table or a layer of rock at some depth, before digging foundations or wells, depending what you need. Alternatively you can mount the probes as a fixed array and walk them across the field, to see how the near-surface resistance in a particular depth varies with position. This can be used to locate buried structures that are not the same conductivity as the soil they are buried in. There are spiked roller versions for rapid surveys of very shallow buried objects.
