Learning, Development & Competence - What provisions does your employer make?

Hi to all the Safety Engineering professionals out there.

I think we would all agree that one of the key cornerstones to individual (and corporate) effectiveness is continually developing and maintaining our engineering (and other) competencies.

Interested to understand what allowances the companies that you work for make in that respect (e.g. Days/Year, Development allowances etc). Or is it just the case that you are simply expected to remain at the cutting edge without any corporate overhead?

Keen to get your thoughts.
