Revit & Electrical (& Mechanical) Design Software/ Plug-Ins

Morning All

Quick question that some may be able to help with.  My M&E Engineering Consultancy has been using Revit for quite some time and have a fair knowledge of its capabilities and limitations.  We are currently reviewing options for purchasing further MEP software to enhance Revit and allow for better Electrical (& Mechanical) design.

We have been reviewing the likes of 'MagiCAD' and 'Stabicad', but were wondering what software others may be using and perhaps some advice on what is good and what to avoid?

Any help would be hugely appreciated, thanks.

    Hi Adrian

I have recently been using Modecsoft’s ElectricalOM, full design software which has an add on for Revit and also Autocad to be synchronised with it. Reasonably priced and a very good support.

I've been using the free software from RS, called DesignSpark, and found it more than up to the needs for both mechanical and electronic engineering, plus fun to work with as well. I've recently bought the upgrades for it to get it to work with AutoCAD which the rest of the office use.
