Bend with the Wind - Not Broken by It : The Full interest of Engineering

I would like to raise an important issue amongst the members, that the Communities platform, whilst being an accessible online forum for discussion of risks and opportunities in Engineering, is certainly facing certain opposition.

I have been alerted that certain groups, demarcated by their individual attribute affiliation, may oppose certain developments, that would be in the best interest of Engineering, yet, somehow be against the interest of such groups. Myself, being a keen proponent of latest engineering developments that can be sustained for the full potential of humans from anywhere in this world, would be very disappointed, if full interests of Engineering is overlooked by virtue of any other reasons that would subjugate the natural development of Engineering prospects.

Especially, with Covid, and the tension of war in South China Sea, from where much Engineering developments had been channeled, an increased awareness is required - as adverse engineering directly or indirectly can be fairly expected.

I hope that the IET does not succumb to any previous or current impositions for any further affiliation, than solely for the best interest of Engineering, as is more importantly required at this current and testing time.

It is important, whilst being in nature, to "Bend with the Winds, and Yet not be Broken by it".

  • and yet...we are to bend over, but not too much otherwise we'll break!

Interesting post although a little explanation might be helpful.
