3rd party qualified supervisor

As a recently qualified electrician with less than 2 years experience, but wanting to work as a sole trader, how do I find someone to be a qualified supervisor for my work?

The current implication is I either have to pay building control or be employed by someone who is registered with a CPS. 


Appreciate any advice on how I can continue to work and develop without having to be employed by someone else.

    As a newly qualified electrician with less than 2 years experience you might be still regarded as a journeyman, that is a tradesman gathering site supervisory experience.

    It sounds as though you want to do domestic work, as this is where most single traders end up, unless you have made lots of contacts in the commercial/industrial areas. In which case you'll need to be registered with one of the self certifying organizations such as NICEIC or NAPIT.

    There are several statutory regulations governing this area of work beyond BS7671.
