  • It is a capacitor of a few uF  in a box. As UK meters read KW not KVA anyway the saving will be negligible.

    The real money is made by the folk with the nerve to sell them to unsuspecting punters.

     

    Big Clive took  a 220V one to bits a while ago 

  • If it's a good one, they might even be real capacitors in a box.

    There is a report here from some years ago of similar quackery, I doubt things have improved….

    Considering that over half of my energy bill is for gas, an electrical device that can reduce my bill by 90% would be truly remarkable.
