Our Technical Network are producing a two-day online webinar event on the 9th and 10th Sept 2021:
Additive manufacturing and low-cost sensing has enabled the development of affordable rehabilitation technology for upper limb impairment but there has been a slow uptake of these technologies and transference to clinical practice. From large state-of-the-art clinical systems deployed in hospitals to the potential of home-based devices, technology innovation is driving acceptance of these technologies and changing the way rehabilitation is conducted and researched. As important as engineering and technological research and industry is, the inclusion of both clinical and patient input is absolutely vital in fully leveraging technology to achieve the best possible outcome for the future of upper limb rehabilitation.
This two day free webinar organised by the IET Technical Networks (Healthcare Technologies, Robotics and Mechatronics) explores via talks and user group discussions the technological advances and future challenges of various different areas of upper limb rehabilitation including prosthetics, stroke, neuropathic pain and spasticity.
