Old King Coal Can't Do Enough in China.

We sold the Chinese all of our 2nd hand underground coal mining machinery back in the day! We need it back now! If someone other than the imbecile we presently have at the nation's tiller could take over, we could get back to mining coal cheaply by using automated robots, no need for hundreds of militant miners, just a few techies in front of a touch screen controlling events. Meanwhile all windmill subsidies should be removed and redirected towards clean coal technology. We are sitting upon hundreds of thousands of tons of the stuff and with today's tech we should be able to extract it more efficiently and cheaply. If we really are short of co2, then what better way to create it other than by burning coal, which also has the beneficial side effect of creating coal gas at the same time, so no need for Putin's ransomgas

The near total outage in Lebanon is unrelated. Most power plants in Lebanon burn diesel fuel and there is not at present any global shortage of that fuel.

The Lebanese government have run out of money to purchase diesel fuel. Remembering that the sellers of the fuel will want real money such as £ or $ and not the almost worthless local “money”

Such very limited diesel fuel as may be found in Lebanon is of doubtful quality having been adulterated with various unsuitable materials.

Well said! I KNOW, most of you ‘greenies’ LURVE wind power BUT… apart from destroying our land, and sea, scape's we now have the problem of the disposal of the old blades!

I still think tidal needs a good shot. Quite reliable tidal range has got to be an advantage
