Electricity the Scarce Commodity.

  • I wonder what has gone wrong? Now we only have 1.6GW of wind and 0.59 GW of solar. Luckily 17.57 GW of gas is rescuing Boris! However, if they are paying the spot price, Each unit is costing 60p to generate.

    Ah yes, but the wise companies will have bought futures, which is, effectively, what we do with a fixed price contract.

    It has been a lovely sunny day here on the south coast, but next to no wind and of course not only is the sun lower in the sky, but it is there for a relatively short time.
