It's possible to believe that climate change is a real issue which needs addressing while also holding the view that heat pumps are often an inappropriate technology for doing that addresssing.

I suppose compressing a load of natural gas in Saudi Arabia or Texas*, then expanding it for use here is a sort of environmental heat pump in an unhelpful direction. Siberian LPG would be better in that respect. Score one to Uncle Vl4d.
