Re : Standard for general rules for low voltage switchgear assemblies and requirements for LV Panel with PLC / DCS

Hi there,

I am normally read about IEC 61439 and IEC 60947 in LV panel/cabinet/switchgear design and assembly. My confusion is do we apply another standard as well for the cabinet that assembled with PLC/DCS in the cabinet? This automation panel is used for building control systems for heating and cooling systems. Need some knowledge and experience from experts. Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Eddy K

Please don't forget to reference the c-type standards for the products you are designing.

These will guide you on the PLr or SIL required for any safety functions and guide you in compliance with the requirements of ISO 13849-1 & -2, then if you have emergency stop functions there is ISO 13850.
