Community badge names - your help needed!

Hi everyone! The community team are looking at introducing a badge to recognise community members who've made helpful contributions in the community. We've tried out a LOT of names for the badge but none of them really hit the mark - and at this point everything sounds odd. We've looked at things like:

  • Educator
  • Mastermind
  • Megamind
  • Sage
  • Know-it-all

Do any of these strike a chord with you? Any other suggestions? If you prefer you are welcome to send me a private message with your suggestions - I'd love to hear from all community members who have suggestions, including those who prefer reading to posting.

  • Number of posts is no guarantor whatsoever of worth. In fact the number of posts can be more an indicator of narcissism than knowledge, training  and experience. Who is to judge the worth and how?  The IET’s membership process at least attempts to sort the wheat from the chaff using formalised peer review by accredited professionals.  Something similar would be needed to assign ‘merit indicators’ If the IET’s community forum is not to descend into the divisive, whacky echo chamber maelstrom which comprises social media generally.  Contributors can gauge for themselves how much their contributions are valued by the responses they receive.  In my view, for what it’s worth, badges are childish, unnecessary, and counterproductive.
