Dad, is Hydrogen a Gas?

One person said: “Only If they are determined to go ahead with this nonsense .... it would be so much easier (and a lot cheaper) - to produce the hydrogen and burn it in power stations to produce electricity - which every home can use for heating. Rather than digging up the nation - to lay down yellow pipes to deliver hydrogen.”

  • Yes son, hydrogen is a gas under most conditions, it can be liquified by extreme cold, and can even be solidified under even more extreme conditions. But yes a gas normally.

Politicians and other foolish persons do not understand this and refer to hydrogen as being an “alternative to gas” when what they mean is “an alternative to natural gas”  And not a very sensible alternative in most cases.
