Our Local Network organises regular talks and workshops if the need is felt. However, recently there has been a decline in members’ involvement and we would like to encourage a greater participation of as many members as possible. We would welcome new ideas for forthcoming events and a greater turn out at our AGM , regularly held every year, since the inception of the local branch of the then IEE in 1993.
WE have tried to contact members individually over the phone some years ago, but this did not work out also. However, I personnaly invited other non IET members at a talk in 2011 and the outcome was some 40+. That was very encouraging.
I was thinking of organising a talk on a particular subject such as automation of a power station, followed by a visit to teh visit. This might attarct some members and other non-members since it is a very interesting site for a visit
