Anglian events - education or entertainment?

The planners on the local committee are busily trying to think of & organise interesting events for our members, and would appreciate some guidance on where to focus our efforts.



It seems that entertaining events, such as those involving steam trains, beer , bows & arrows and suchlike draw a much larger audience than weighty academic & technical topics. We have the opportunity to put on lectures & training on technical topics, training on CAD tools, how-tos and advice that might help us in our jobs. Is this of interest to our audience?
