Opportunity from the BBC

***Opportunity***

Hello - we received the following message from somebody that works for the BBC.

''I’m writing from the BBC where we are currently developing a competition format for robotics and engineering. The programme would involve teams of amateurs building robots and devices to complete tasks and challenges.

At the moment we are keen to find out if there are any amature engineers/builders in the UK robotics community – what they might’ve made already and what they’d love to make next.

It would be great to hear from any existing groups (students and enthusiasts) as well as hackers and modifiers whose passion for creation dominates their lives.''

Please feel free to comment on this thread or, e-mail us at womensnetwork@theiet.org

Thanks,

Jo
  • There is a robot triathlon competition run by the YPs in the Midlands... www.theiet.org/.../193512.cfm

Might be a good starting point for recruitment. There is also mocromouse www.micromouseonline.com/ and the VEX robotics competition.

    Brilliant!  Thank you, Kate.
  • Actually not sure that the triathlon link is correct - can't find the one for this year but assume it will be on the website soon...
