How do you see 5G developing?

We had what I considered an excellent presentation from Professor Matthew Baker, 3GPP TSG RAN WG1 vice-chair, outlining his view on the drivers for 5G and some of the radio access network technologies that might be behind it. Do you see 5G being developed according to Professor Baker's view point? Was there anything missing? What other directions might 5G take? Did the timescales seem realistic?

Many thanks for your input. My perception from the talk was that the 5G modulation scheme is yet to be locked down and that UF-OFDM is just a potential candidate, but it does appear to be gaining traction (at least based on references, etc.). In terms of the timing, again my perception was 3GPP Rel-15 - so serious focus late 2017/ early-2018, completing 2020? I stand to be corrected . . .
