The Female Researcher Network (FeRN) Annual Lecture will be taking place on the 3rd of June 2015 from 11:30-13:30 at Cranfield University.
The guest speaker will be Prof Averil MacDonald D.Unic CPhys FInstP FRSA, who is a champion of Women in Science and Engineering and has won many awards including the International Bragg Medal + Prize for Physics, The Royal Society Millennium Award, and Woman of Outstanding Achievement In Science, amongst others.
The event will include a poster session showcasing research of Cranfield students/researchers for which there will be a prize.
A judges panel consisting of members of UKPSF/Soc. of Bio, BFWG and Averil herself and the Institute of Engineering & Technology (to be confirmed), will be present in a demonstration of support from these organisations. The call for posters will be launched later this month.
Overview of the day will be coffee/refreshments + poster session where student finalists will present their projects as Judges and attendees walk around. There will then be the lecture by Averil. The judges will award the winner after the lecture during lunch.
