IET Strategy For 21st Century

IET Strategy For 21st Century has been posted.

Please refer to page 14 on strategic plan for 2013-15.

We appreciate input for us to plan according to the strategy but narrow to a few priority areas. We hope you can identify 3 areas according to your LN needs.

Please post your views.

    I would suggest in terms of strategy for AP region in short term:

    1. Sort out the IET approach / strategy in China development (key area of development) and how CCAP would be able to support, i.e. currently development of China should be under China Development Panel which is yet to be formed after so many months. Once LN or ILN is formed in China, it would be under CCAP management. The transition is always an uncertainty;

    2. Assist Taipei ILN to become LN hopefully within 2012/13 session so that they can then operate on their own with support from IET AP office like any other LN in the region; and

    3. Assist LN's to identify projects (conferences, competitions, studies, etc) that would cover the whole region, e.g. Regional Railway Conference, Regaional Radio Spectrum Conference, Regional PATW, etc.

    For medium to long term, we should look at how to make use of the Corporate Partnership Programme, the Career Advantage Programme and RRA between local professional institutions and iET to try to recruit new members of all ranges, particularly in the range of 25 to 40, and to retain existing members.
