Last week Hugh Boyes gave an excellent insight into the security considerations and processes that should be adopted during a building's lifecycle. What were your takeaways from the evening? Are our buildings secure enough? Is there enough public awareness of the potential risks and if not what should be done about it? Another fascinating area is cars with concerns being raised regarding BMW's ConnectedDrive. Would a follow up presentation looking into car security be of interest to you, or are there other aspects of security that you'd like us to arrange an event on? Let us know your thoughts.
From a very good technical presentation last month promoting the eCall for emergencies, and linked into driverless cars it was interesting to hear the ‘cyber’ threat being presented and how easy a car can be hacked!! With any item that has electronics and especially a connection to the cloud (or IP address) a hacker could control that equipment – thinking a plane need to be physically hijacked to crash – someone could control your car into something with you having no control over a realistic view which I don’t think the general public are very aware of.
