Hello,

I have received the following request from Generating Genius an education charity working with talented young people from black and ethnic minority communities and students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Generating Genius will be running a workshop in May in partnership with an organisation called Girlguiding UK, which will have an emphasis on girls developing digital enterprise skills. The aim will be for girls aged 14-15 to gain an insight in to how digital tools can be used to research, market and promote products and services online. As part of the overall programme they will be running a 'Women in Tech' speed-networking session, to provide the girls with an opportunity to speak to women in tech industries or academia - or simply with some kind of tech profile - about their jobs / experiences. They would really like to hear from anyone who would be interested in volunteering their time to support this part of the programme. The speed-networking session will take place on Saturday 16th May at 11:30am, and will last approximately 1 hour. The venue for the workshop is in Chingford, East LondonGG is happy to cover any travelling expenses incurred by volunteers.

Would any of you be willing to come and talk to the girls?  If so, please e-mail me at womensnetwork@theiet.org and tell me a little bit about yourself.

Best wishes,

Jo
