The catalyst for me was at about 9 years old when my father made a very simple circuit with a switch, lamp and battery, all mounted on an ornate piece of wood. I was fascinated by the fact that these few components, connected together in a certain way, would make something that would do something that I could see! That led to me reading everything I could, making crystal radio receivers, and eventually becoming a professional engineer. I wouldn't have had it any other way...
