''We have an event on Tuesday 23/06/2015 to celebrate women in engineering day. Our initial guest speaker declined last week. Since then we have been trying to invite a guest speaker with a strong link to the IET.
The event will be attended by over 120 guests, the majority of them are young engineering students. In our network, most of the members are women. I think it will make a big difference to invite one of the well-accomplished IET women engineer. Also, most of our volunteers have been working very hard for the IET, inviting a key figure from the IET will motivate and inspire them. It will be much appreciated if you can recommend/contact someone for us in this short notice''.
The event and the guest speaker travel arrangement cost have been approved by the EMEA CC.
We would like a small speech( 30 -60 mins) on the night and maybe a lecture in the morning at the American university of the middle east, both to be centered around women in engineering. The volunteers are working on exciting sight seen for the speakers.
