Fun Kids, the UK’s radio station for children, has been awarded an Ingenious grant by Royal Academy of Engineering to create and run training workshops to work first-hand with 120 young engineers to teach them key multi-media presentation skills, from interviews to creating and delivering audio and visual presentations.

As part of the workshops, this learning will be put into practise with the engineers getting a chance to inspire a whole new generation to pursue a career in engineering.

Glasgow

The IET is pleased to offer a free multi-media training day for 15 IET members, aged 30 years or under, 22nd July at the Teacher Building in Glasgow.

And In Brimingham...

The IET is pleased to offer a free multi-media training day for 15 IET members, aged 30 years or under, 1st August at Austin Court in Birmingham.

The course is run by Fun Kids Radio, the UK’s only radio station for children, and has been funded by an Ingenious grant from the Royal Academy of Engineering, so it is completely free to take part.

On the day, they will be teaching you lots of skills to help you with multi-media presentations. These new skills will help should you be interviewed on television or radio, if you are making a presentation or just sharing ideas with colleagues.

Plus you will have the chance to put your new found skills to the test as you will practise by recording audio and video demonstrations of engineering for children, which will be broadcast on Fun Kids. You will need to come up with a practical demonstration which will inspire children to get involved in engineering. There are more details attached.
