I would like to visit....

If you've watched the 'Welcome to the London Network' video you would have heard our Chairman (Davy Thielens) mention that a Visits Group is being set up within the London Network. The group will be tasked with organising 'behind the scenes' visits to places of engineering interest and technical visits to local engineering companies.

If you have an idea for a visit, would like to offer/host a visit, or would like to help out in any way, please add your reply to this discussion thread.

Tell us what you would like to see and where you would like to visit and we'll see what we can organise!  smiley

Please note: You have to 'Join' the IET London MyCommunity group before you can add comments and reply to discussions!

  • How about a behind the scenes visit to the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge at Dartford perhaps? To look at the traffic management systems in place to keep the traffic flowing and to look at the new automatic toll charging systems they will be introducing shortly.

I know the bridge itself lies across the counties of Essex and Kent but It's relatively easy to get to. I'm sure there would other members across London that would be interested if a visit could be organised?

  • Hi Graham,

It looks like there has been some confusion about how your notifications are set up. You are receiving emails because you have subscribed to this topic. I have emailed you separately to explain further. Please do not reply to this post as I will be removing it (and some of the others above) to avoid confusion about the visit Lisa and Ho are trying to organise.

    Thanks
