Marconi or not Marconi???

Hello All

I need your help....let me explain.

There is a photograph in my possesion that belonged to my Great-Grandmother. It was taken in 1927 in Colon Lima, Peru (or so it says on the back of the photo)

The gentleman on the left is my Great-Grandmothers Uncle (Uncle Billy) who I'm led to believe was a bit of a Globetrotter. We were always told that the man on the right was Marconi, but looking at other photos of Marconi I don't believe this is him.

Do you know who it is?

I've searched the internet trying to find out who may have been in Lima in 1927 but I'm coming up a blank.

I'm assuming it was someone well known, possibly from an engineering or technology background otherwise my Great-Grandmother wouldn't have kept it in her photograph collection all these years.

    Definitely not Marconi, sorry.



    You can see a picture of Marconi c.1927 at g4usb.net/.../marconi.jpg and the man sitting to the right of you Great-Grandmother's Uncle looks nothing like him.



    Don't recognise who it is either but others may be able to help.

    It's been a bit of a mystery for a while. My Grandmother was told by her Mum that it was Marconi but as you rightly say, it isn't him.



    I'm intrigued though and would love to know who it is!!

    Lisa is your Uncle on the left as we look at the photo or on the left as they looked towards the photographer?



    Either way it's a great photograph!

    It's my Great-Grandmother's Uncle, not mine...wink I'm not THAT old....! laugh



    The man on the left with the bow tie is my Great (x3) Uncle Billy. I don't even know his surname so I can't look him up either....



    It's the identity of the man  to his left (on the right of the picture as we look at it) who is holding a pipe that I'm looking for.

    Might be worthwhile doing some delving in to your family tree, as finding out more information about greatx3 uncle Billy may help you to identify Mr Mystery Man :o)
