Enfield Council and the Enfield Women’s Centre teamed up on 4th March 2015 to celebrate International Women’s Day and to organise a local a Conference at the Dugdale Centre. The primary aim of the conference was to recognise the contribution that women make in all walks of life with the theme: ‘Equality for Women is Progress for All’. The day not only called for local and international change, but also celebrated acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in their countries and communities.
This year, Enfield's Women Centre is organising an event that they hope will be able to inspire young women to take up STEM subjects.
They are looking for a blend of volunteer women, working in the voluntary sector – women’s groups/services as well as local authority personnel.
Ideally, they would like to have someone talking about the area of encouraging women to take up STEM subjects with a view of encouraging those into further study.
The event; ''Women – No Limits, You Can Be Whatever You Want To Be” will take place on the 15th March at a local venue – the Dugdale Centre, Enfield.
Approximately 100 attendees will be present.
