017 Canadian Scout Jamboree

Hi Gareth,

Would you be able to support Stewart for this 017 Canadian Scout Jamboree to be held in Nova Scotia in July of 2017.

It is at July 8–15, 2017 at Camp Nedooae in Nova Scotia.

I was thinking with posters, torches, funds and sponsorship, BBC Mico-bit, local volunteers.

I have also circulated this to the Canadian networks contacts, Jenny Yu (Toronto), John Vines (Ottawa), Viano Oghenekevwe Eric Blanchard (Montreal) via their networks.

I recently told Stewart of the Paul Gardiner kits, below.

Stewart is my son Mark's father-in-law.

Kind regards,

Derrick

Thanks Derek, this stuff looks really interesting.

Margery & I are currently in Barbados, but are reluctantly heading home this coming Wednesday.

Once I get back I’ll spend more time looking at this material.

As you might have heard from Mark, I’m chair of the planning committee for the 017 Canadian Scout Jamboree. One of our program elements is STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) so these kits might well be of serious interest!

Chat with you soon,

All the very best,

Stewart

Hi Stewart.

How are you all? Hope all are well.

As you will know, IET are supporting the Scouts Electronics badge.

A retired local teacher, Paul Gardiner, has developed inexpensive kits which fit the brief.

They are available at

Love to you all.

Hi Derrick. Unfortunately Nova Scotia , for me, is  nearly a 900 mile (13 hours solid)  drive from Ottawa; sImilar to driving from London UK to Munich and really I have no plans to be out that way in June due to other commitments.

I suspect you may not get too many takers for this from the networks in Ontario and Quebec but you may be lucky if somebody is out that way already.

Do we have any IET networks out in Nova Scotia, New Bruswick or PEI? I am not personnally aware of any active groups but hopefully your request here wll not go unnoticed by our members that could be available.
