We have an opportunity for 4 women in industry - preferably from an Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EEECS) background, to serve as keynote speakers at Queens University, Belfast - Preferably local to the area.

To speak to final year female and male engineering students to encourage them to pursue a career in engineering and early career researchers / PhD's

April or May 2014
Topic:
Open to suggestions on this but should include information on your journey into the engineering profession, achievements, challenges that you overcame, benefits of working in engineering.
Examples of topics could include:
Opportunities to travel with a career in engineering
Balancing a family
Working in a male dominated environment
The importance of recognising unconscious bias
The diversity of roles in engineering
The benefits of networking

20 minutes

Q&A session:
There will be an opportunity for Q&A's after the talks, followed by light refreshments and opportunities for networking.
Travel and accommodation, if required, will be covered by the IET.
