Do we really need 4G LTE?

Tonight "KV" gave a highly informative presentation on the drivers, motivation for 4G and its technologies, but do those drivers match your own? Is the mobile service you already experience sufficient, or on the flip side are you still concerned that 4G doesn't go far enough? Were there questions you wished you'd asked, or additional topics you would have liked to have been covered? We'd love to hear your views and opinions, as I'm sure KV would too.

For info, the web site KV highlighted for more 4G/LTE background was: http://lteuniversity.com/

A good technical overview how the technology has advanced and where it is going – again it seems like ‘red-tape’ is the only thing holding the technology back.  Plus our actual smartphone will need to become smarter!  With Apple releasing an updated version iPhone every xx months – surely the advances only plays into the profit margins of the handset manufactures?

  • An excellent overview of the technical and performance issues.  My perception is that the incremental increase in data rate to cusotmers will be very quickly abosrbed, leaving us all gasping for 5G and beyond.
