Tue 11th Mar is an important day for the Discovery museum in Newcastle. It sees the opening of the reserve electrical collection in the basement gallery with a museum friends tour.
This gallery is now open by appointment for tours by menbers of the general public, schools etc. and shows a wide range of artefacts from the early electrical days in the NE of England as well as the development of electrical engineering in the region.
Some pilot tours have already been conducted with schools and members of the general public with positive feedback from all parties.
There are still more treasures to be found in store and these will be added to the displays as they are found
