Practical Tips and Guidelines: IET Event Arrangements

Hello

I am the Secretary of IET Islamabad Network (Pakistan) which is a new born Local Network.  We are planning an IET Event at Islamabad on August 2016.  Although, there is a lot of information at IET website and IET Community Staff is also helping us gradually.  But i would like to take more practical Tips and Guidelines about Event Planning and Running, as the IET London Network is more established and experienced in these matters.

I have floated a general question here but in future, may be i will ask more specific questions.  All concerned are requested to guide us please.

Thank you and regards

Hello Nouman - You should find a wealth of help about how to run LN events here www.theiet.org/running-events

There are other similar resource pages like this one for marketing - www.theiet.org/marketing

As an LN volunteer you should be receiving monthly updates which refer to these resource pages. If not please let your Community Manager know so that you can be added.

  • Hello Steve

    Thank you for your response.

I was addressing the Secretary of IET London Network.  Anyway, if your replied.  I have gone through these link.  Dont you think that if one go to these pages, one is scattered by clicking the links into a link and then links into a link.  At the end, one is detracked and demotivated.  We need a single step by step document instead of pieces of documents placed at various places.  You as IET Staff knows better that how to tackle this problem.

Let me give you an example of my query whose answer i could not find that i want statistics about the average expense on a specific event having a specifice number of events.  It gives idea.  but i could not find.

    Thank you.
  • Hello Michael

Thank you very much for your intervention.

You answer is very impressive to me.  Nearly exact what i meant.  Please note that Pakistan is not associated with CC-South Asia, instead it is with CC-EMEA.  I wanted to get rough ideas and practical on field guidelines.  By the way, where are you now a days and for which LN are you playing your role.

    Thanks
