The JCB Academy in Staffordshire is looking for volunteers! See their request below.
I am excited to announce that this year the Women into Engineering event is taking place from Monday, 25th June to Thursday, 28th June 2018, held at The JCB Academy.
The support and help of our partners is integral to the success of this event so we’re calling for female engineers from your organisation to help promote engineering to young girls from primary schools from all across Staffordshire and Derbyshire. We’ve invited over 120 primary schools to nominate up to three girls from year 6 (aged 9-10) and also asked them to bring along a female parent/carer too.
The role of the guest female engineer would be to meet and greet the young girls and their parents/carers, help with the various tasks that we will set the girls and talk about their own pathways into engineering – giving the girls some real life inspiration! Further details are available for anyone you nominate.
Each day has a morning and an afternoon session to which different schools and groups of students will be invited. Will would offer a free lunch to any helpers that help out at our event. The session take place at:
Morning session: 8:30am - 12:30pm (lunch provided)
Afternoon session: 11:45am - 15:30pm (lunch provided)
