Female ambassadors working in any engineering discipline are wanted for a full day event, on Tuesday the 12th June, to mark the annual International National Women in Engineering Day 2018 (INWED 2018) campaign run by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES).

All career stages and qualification levels are sought to demonstrate the numerous career paths open to girls with varying academic abilities, so however you have found your way into engineering we want you to tell your story.  The event will be an informal and inspirational careers day where pupils will get the chance to interact with professionals and take part in some group activities.  We are looking for volunteers to have a table as part of the careers fayre.  Volunteers can either have a small activity at their table, or bring pictures of their work with them that they can talk through with interested pupils.

S2 female pupils from all secondary schools in East Dunbartonshire will be invited to the event which we are running for the third time, and we hope to build on the success of last year’s event where 60 pupils took part. If you want to be a part of this campaign to raise awareness of the fantastic opportunities that are available to girls through a career in engineering before they make crucial subject choices, we would love to hear from you.

If you would like any further information prior to making a decision, or if you are available to volunteer on the day, please contact Jane.Evans@tonygee.com before the 11th of May 2018.
