Introduction to TRIZ

TRIZ (the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) was created by engineers, for engineers. TRIZ is a proven process for solving problems, generating new ideas and developing systems quickly, cheaply and inventively. The TRIZ process offers a rigorous and systematic approach for understanding and solving any problem; its principal tools enable you to uncover the most effective route to practical solutions.

Have you heard of TRIZ before? If so, have you ever used this methodology? What was your experience of it?

Hi Jo, is there any chance of some of these types of courses being made available via webinar or something? I am sure that many other Internationals probably feel the same as I with frustration that we cannot easily get access to many of the training materials from the IET.

Could I second the suggestion of online delivery, although more from a price perspective. A week's gross salary is a lot to drop on spec for a one day course when I don't know how applicable it will be to my day job. In my work the problems are more people than technology.

Thank you once again for the feedback, Victoria and Stephen.

Currently this course is available in the UK as a public and In-Company face2face course. Outside the UK this course can be provided In-Company for ten or more delegates, for this option a quote can be requested via pdcourses@theiet.org

In 2017 we will be exploring our on-line training options, including TRIZ training.

Off the back of yesterday's discussion I bought TRIZ for Dummies. Interested to note that ideality adds another dimension to the costs vs benefits measure often applied to projects by adding in harms.
