Introduction

Hi

I have just retired from the Royal Navy after more years than is sensible. Now in to my second career as a teacher in HMS Collingwood. Not a dramatic change i agree but i like the place and the people. It is a change being able to go home every day and not worry about the phone call and a sudden trip away. The past ten years i have mainly been involved with Mine Warfare as the head of the Weapons Engineering department. Over the years i have found that the training environment really interests me. I see a lot of talented young people who are hungry to learn and gain experience. In many cases my job is to convince them that they have the talent to progress their engineering in many diverse directions. It for me is a privilage to work where my learning began. Like many servicemen i could have done better at school.

I look forward to taking part in the Solent Network.

Thank you

Eddie

Good to hear from you and thank you for your introduction. It would be great to have a chat about what we do and how the IET might be able to help. Perhaps you could drop me an email at Joe.dunn@ietvolunteer.org and we can discuss further.

    Thanks

    Joe
