As this is local to me and I knew nothing about it, I was very interested to come across the Scottish Industrial Railway Centre in Ayrshire. This is a 'living museum' where unique and historically significant industrial steam and diesel locomotives are restored and can be seen working in an authentic setting. They also have 'Steam Days'.
