According to today's 'On this Day' banner on the MyHome page, on this day (5th September) in 1980 the Gotthard Road Tunnel opened in Switzerland as the world's longest highway tunnel at 10.14 miles (16.32 km) stretching from Göschenen to Airolo.
Did any IET members in Switzerland work on the Tunnel at the time (or have since) and have any stories to share?
