To coincide with the 40th Anniversary of YWE, we’re planning an exciting video series project with mechanical engineer and TV presenter, Dr Shini Somara, who will interview six inspirational women engineers from different sectors to find out what inspired them to join the profession, why they love their job – and why they would encourage girls to become engineers. The films will focus on the ‘human’ side of the interviewee – showing them as real women who are passionate and successful in what they do, but have also faced and overcome challenges along the way, whether in their personal or working lives.
Dr Somara is also the host of a very successful physics series on YouTube called Crash Course - which currently has over 5 million subscribers!
We’re looking for suggestions of women engineers who have an interesting and inspiring story to tell, which can inspire both young girls and women engineers at the start of their career.
If you are interested in getting involved or have any suggestions of who we should contact; please e-mail me at womensnetwork@theiet.org
Thank you,
Jo
