Enabling bidirectional wireless communication between IBM Cloud and Bluetooth Low Energy peripherals through SimpleLink™︎ Wi-Fi®︎

I've just watched this webinar, about using Texas Instruments Bluetooth and Wifi devices to form a sensor cloud gateway design. Very interesting, covers a lot of the issues around power consumption, connectivity and security. I'm surprised it wasn't promoted within this network? Is it possible to open an ongoing dialogue through the IET with the TI engineers on topics arising from this webinar? Is there a convenient link to the webinar for those that didn't see it?
  • Thanks for your message Alex Barrett

The webinar was advertised in the events section here.  It is available on demand  (requires registration)
  • Ah thanks, I missed the advert. Is it now closed for further questions? It was very interesting and useful, it would be great to see more of these.
  • Alex Barrett‍ I assume that questions are closed for this particular webinar, but I'm sure they would be happy for questions for future discussions/webinars. Alex Macleod‍ will be able to confirm
  • We need more on connecting IoT devices securely to cloud services, both in development and in 'real world' applications.
  • Hi Alex - you can still ask questions through the Q&A box in the webinar platform, question facilities are still open. That way your question can easily be shared amongst TI's speakers. If you prefer feel free to message back on this platform and I'll forward to the speakers though.

Your comments are very interesting. I'll forward on to TI should they be considering doing a follow-on webinar.

    Best regards,

  • Alex, that is good news. I did leave a question yesterday in the Q&A box.

The webinar covered provisioning of a prototype via the IBM cloud site, but didn't elaborate upon how this is achieved in a production environment, where this information cannot conveniently be hard-coded into the device.
  • You should receive a timely response from TI, however if you don't could you let me know by emailing me at amacleod@theiet.org and I'll chase!
  • Thought I'd let you know there's another webinar related to IoT antennas from E&T this week.
