Help needed for an Engineering Product Design Student in Kent

When you have an up and coming engineering product designer in the family who asks for help, you have to respond...

I have a year 12 student studying an A level in Product Design (alongside Maths and Physics) in Faversham, Kent. As part of that A level, she needs to undertake an independent design project and for this she is looking for companies or individuals who can be the end-client for a design and build solution, between now and Easter 2020.

The key criteria for the company and individual to be the client are:

  • Wants to be able to support this person in her work as she progresses towards Engineering Product Design as a career.

  • Needs to be a real problem for the client

  • Will result in a physical solution to be designed and made by the student

  • Client needs to be within reasonable travel time of Faversham, Kent (we can assess that) and/or the client needs to be able to have Skype or similar for meetings

  • Client needs to be able to work with her on a moderately regular basis - more regular as the specifications are defined and the solution starts to be developed, less regular as the solution approaches completion (a short review/discussion every couple of weeks)

  • Client needs to be able to provide feedback as the design solution progresses through potential solutions/prototypes

  • Client needs to be able to help with final evaluation of the designed solution

  • No payment is required, no costs to cover

If anyone is able to help or even think it might be possible to help, please drop me a line to discuss.
