Still awfully quiet in here

Great to see the rainbow flags flying over Savoy Place and on the large screens in the foyer. It was good to see IET events and activity around LGBTSTEM day on 5 Jul too.

So why is it still so quiet in this LGBT Network?

    Hello

    I wonder too.

    Any suggestions to change this?
  • Sorry I was meaning to reply sooner, but it's been a busy few weeks for me. I've just finished my first week in my new role at Thales.

Has anyone seen anything on how the #IAmAnEngineer hashtag is going?

Anyone fancy arranging a meet up later this year?

Good idea, depends where fellow members are based. I am based in the midlands
  • A meetup sounds good. I’m based in London.

Maybe also we could share LGBT events on here and if a number of us are going to a particular one we could arrange to meet at or before the event?

I quite often attend LGBT STEM events. I must remember to post them on here
  • I'm based at uni of Leeds and are on the committee of both the lgbt+ society and electrical engineering so might be able to wrangle a venue of the union of needed

Were you at the Leeds Pride ? There were lots of Uni staff there supporting the event.
  • I was indeed, the society was in the parade

Alas, hopefully we meet next time.

It could be tricky as everyone is spread out across the country.

Does everyone know about the lgbt+ STEMinar 2020, which will be held in Birmingham?

That could be a good opportunity to meet .

  • I have booked to attend LGBT STEMinar 2020.

The 2019 STEMinar at IoP was great fun.
  • The steminar seems to be almost bang in the middle of January exams so i probably won't be able to go to that :(
