CPD hours and monitoring

Hi, how do you quantify number of CPD hours for a project you have completed? Is there a scaling tool or calculation we have? 

Also, under which category of CPD comes an online non-credit course for which you have been issued the certification? Self-study or Experience or Training? Many thanks

    A while since you posted your question but I just came across it while I was browsing through the communities after looking at my CPD record.


    I never came across any specific guidance on the number of hours to claim but, when wishing to claim a Project as CPD, my approach was to think about how many hours I had spent acquiring any NEW knowledge and claim that as CPD. For example I was tasked with designing an electrical interface for a new instrument. Not being familiar with that interface, I had to spend some four hours researching relevant standards, understanding how these applied to my desired interface and summarising the critical features for use in my design.  I therefore claimed four hours as CPD. Seems a reasonable approach to me!
