IET Addressing

Is it possible for the IET to change how they send mailings? For instance, I would prefer no title, an initial and no post-nominals on ordinary post from the IET (some of that is just nicer when thinking of myself as non-binary).
  • I've changed my title, but had to write to then and did it as part of my name changes.  I didn't ask what titles you can have, or whether they allow Mx, so don't know.

Maybe try phoning up the membership department? If Mx is OK and you want that as an option but isn't allowed, I have a contact I can ask about getting it added to the list, or about opeining up the conversation about changes to addressing.

I must admit I rarely use my post nominals, but do smile when I get IET post as it is a reminder of what I've achieved, so don't get upset by it.
  • Out of interest, I've asked the question, and you are able to have Mx as your title if you prefer - just email membership@theiet.org with your membership number.

    Hi Andrew

I asked for Mx and apparently they are updating there systems (This was last years so may have changed by now)

They gave me the option to set my title as (Blank) as in no title and I said yes.

Hope they have updated everthign for you OK ?
