Long Journey Electric Vehicle Problems. Oh dear.

Oh dear.

  • Reminds me of the report of the first failure of the first arcade video games machine - it turned out that the coin box was full and the backlog had jammed the coin mech. With new public-facing technology there are often teething problems triggered by shear popularity. Generally things evolve to cope in the end. (If we could get the railways sorted out, there'd be less need to use the car for long inter-urban journeys like that anyway.)

  • Sunday engineering works. Your train cancelled. Divert to coaches. Journey time now 3 hours longer.

  • Wow, interesting Sparkingchip

  • I think the reason that people buy Teslas, despite their eye-watering price, is that Tesla maintains their own charging network at every major service station.  Everybody else has to put up with a motley collection of chargers, often badly maintained, each of which requires a different payment method, with the price per kWh varying massively between them.

  • By now the channel tunnel trains should be moving people, cars and trucks directly from Birmingham into Europe.

  • It was whe I was at Senior School 66 to 71 the Channel Tunnel was becoming a real thing and neil took the moonwalk. how far have we come?

  • In many ways have gone back rather than progressing, there used to be far more railways a hundred years ago and better transport links for many communities.
