Spain and Portugal to slash energy bills by 40% by breaking ranks with EU (msn.com)

  • And interestingly, cheaper because a lot of generation is not fossil fuels.

    Interesting because IEA review of 2019 data for Portugal  and the similar for Spain

    still indicated a high oil dependence.   I'm not too sure what has changed, except the oil price...

  • In southern Spain it has been policy for at least 20 years for all public buildings to have pv panels on their roofs.  It is usual for surface car parks to have shelters (like a continuous car port) so you can park “out of the sun”.  Many of these have pv panels e.g. the car park at Ikea Malaga.
