Germany Goes Coal Fired.

That's cos Germany did not demolish its coal fired power stations like the U.K.

There are currently 30 coal-fired power stations in Germany, including RWE’s lignite-fired Niederaussem plant, accounting for around a third of its electricity generation. In the UK, coal-fired power made up just 3% of the UK’s electricity in the first quarter of 2019, according to Ofgem, and will be phased out altogether by 2025.

The U.K. is a BIG loser. But it does burn wood chippings as they are supposedly "green".

  • But Zoom, the end of the world is nigh. 1.3mm of sea level rise every decade since the LIA means we'll all be submerged. We must get ride of the evil invisible CO2.

  • Jon, be consoled that Zoomy will be submerged before the rest of us. Grin

  • But Zoomy's a good swimmer, even when loaded with lead weights to change a swimming pool lamp.

The abandonment of the Norfolk coast due to alarmist unstoppable rising sea level is nothing short of scandalous.

  • Meanwhile in Wales

  • We should follow Germany's example. We are sitting upon hundreds of thousands of tons of the stuff. If the same will and amount of finance was redirected to clean coal tech, then we wouldn't be in the mess we're in today. Meanwhile, what coal we do use is inferior, of low calorific value and is full of sulfur, plus, it is imported from half way around the world! How 'green' is that?

  • I won't. I have just bought some new water wings. So there.
