Good Morning,
I am designing a piece of equipment which is comprise of carbon fibre, acetal and 316L stainless steel.
The unit features no electronics and is stationary during operation.
The unit is fixed to the existing machine via the existing pneumatic clamps.
Our equipment features two steel blades which scrape on a rotating wheel on the clients equipment.
The Clients existing equipment is Rated to Zone 0 due to large quantities of solvent been present (this solvent will be inside our equipment)
I have a lot of experience with ATEX for systems rather than static mechanical components.
What do I need to consider?
As I understand just the following:
- FMEA
- a Dedicated earthing line for all the conductive components (including the carbon fibre and Acetal)
- ATEX Certification from a body such as BASEEFA
thank you
